Badger- Tenacious, Transcendent

Hello friend. Today, I have a new animal spirit to share with you, that being the badger. I found some interesting things that I’d like to leave with you so let's get started. The badger can be found across the world in places such as North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Europe, Africa, and in some parts of the Middle East. These animals are known for being diligent, hard-working, and tenacious when doing their tasks. Interestingly enough, they are able to dig quite fast when chasing their prey and they are known for producing complex tunneling systems that serve as both protection and their living spaces. Case in point, they’ll dig a tunnel that serves as their main den and one off to the side for use as a bathroom area. Badgers tend to be solitary unless they’re mating and raising their cubs (and for some reason, I’m finding that just so dang adorable.) Badgers are also known for being resistant to snake venom and while they’re usually solitary with others of their own species, badgers are often known for playing and hunting with other animals such as foxes and coyotes.

Symbolically, the badger is said to represent adaptability, flexibility, cleverness, friendship, gratitude, and reciprocity. Some Native American meanings cite badgers and being protective of medicine roots because of their digging capabilities. Badgers have also appeared in other mythologies such as Celtic and Japanese among others.

So with all that in mind, let's get to some cards and see what messages they have in store for us.

Alright, so what I really like about this reading is the absolute positivity this card is bringing to the space right now. You’re in a place of authority over yourself and your understanding of the circumstances you find yourself in. On an even deeper level, you have an understanding of yourself that runs deep enough for you to understand that you have enough boldness and fearlessness to take what you feel may be chaotic to you and order it in a way that makes sense to you. What this is doing for you now is allowing you to feel emotionally full and able to maintain an abundant love for yourself and the people in your life during this time.
