So our next flower is the Calla Lily. The Calla Lily is a native flower to South Africa and Malawi. The name is a misnomer as it’s not a true lily or calla flower. It was discovered by the Swedish botanist Carolus Linneaus and the name actually comes from a mistake he made in naming the plant. Eventually, it was corrected when the German botanist Karl Koch created a new genus for the flower, but the name has stuck anyway. The flower is known for its hardiness and can survive in frost conditions. The legend behind the flower is said to stem from Greek mythology in that it is associated with the goddess Hera and sometimes Venus. It is said that Zeus brought Hercules to nurse with Hera while she was asleep. When Hera woke up, she pushed Hercules Wat and some of her milk flew into the sky, creating the Milky Way galaxy. The droplets that hit the ground are said to have become the lilies. When Venus saw them, she grew so jealous of their beauty that she cursed them to grow a large yellow pistil. It is because of this that some people associate the flower with Venus. Some common meanings associate the calla lily with purity, holiness, faithfulness, rebirth, and resurrection, and depending on the color, it can also be associated with appreciation and admiration, charm, passion, and gratitude.
So with this in mind, let’s explore what the cards have to say for me. How can I stay true to who I am, honor the person I will be tomorrow, and the journey I need to take to get myself home?
Let’s go friends.
The Cards

Eyael: transformation, consolation in adversity
Aladiah: grace, cures rage and pestilence, absolves the guilty
Manadel: inner and outer work, helps one keep their job
Harahel: intellectual richness, fertility, makes children respectful toward their parents
10 of wands: burden, heavy load, a lot of weight on your shoulders
10 of pentacles: abundance, stability, satiety, love that transcended time
Ace of wands: something is sparking to life, a passion or hobby is coming to life and taking shape
9 of swords: anxiety, nerves, what keeps us up at night.
6 of swords: transition, movement, you’re not alone in this
9 of cups: happiness, joy, your cups are running over and you’re feeling a lot at this time.
4 of wands: stability, peace, happiness, joy, your goals are growing, celebration, and a happy home

Queen of swords: nurturing, caring, vigilant, and observant but also relaxed
5 of swords: conflict, voices loudly speaking, take a step back from the drama if you can
10 of pentacles: abundance, stability, home, and family are healthy
The Empress: mother, intuition, authority and rule, abundance and creative force
8 of Wands: rapid movement, information coming to you quickly, stay on your toes
Here, I see myself going through a lot of transition and change. Even though I am protected and safe, I am probably carrying a lot of burden on my shoulders and I need to let this go. A lot of this is coming on quickly and there might be conflict around this, but there is so much abundance, peace, happiness, and stability on the other side of this transformation. I can’t tell you how ready I am for that to come to pass.
