Deck used is the Urban Tarot by Robin Scott

Okay so I’m a May Baby. I have my birthday towards the end of the month and I always enjoy celebrating this with family and friends. This year was a bit different to be fair, but it was special none the less. I wish I had been able to do this reading when I had my birthday but I’m not fussed. I know it will come back around so here we are… let’s see what the cards say shall we?

The Cards

from the Urban Tarot by Robin Scott

8 of Wands: things are ramping up with speed aplenty. This is our reminder to keep swimming and going with the flow so we can stay above the waves. Sometimes, we must keep moving ahead as fast as we can if we want to achieve our goals before we run out of steam. As Dory from Finding Nemo says, “just keep swimming.”

6 of Cups: This card represents the finer things in life, the pleasures we all experience. It is the nostalgia for a time gone past where kindness and innocence were part of your life, a reconnection with the loved ones we parted ways with, perhaps this is one of the moments where we find a physical union with our partners that transcends anything we’ve ever experienced before. Whatever this means for the reader, it is a time of reconnection and rebalance and we come new after that.

4 of Cups: Here, we find ourselves in a moment of stability and security. We are in the phase of life where we can be comfortable with the things we have and the life we lead. Yes this is certainly a luxurious time for us, yet this isn’t borne out of having material things. It is borne out of the knowledge of having what we need within reach. We can rest without cares because we know that we have the support we need from someone we love.

Justice: This card represents our desires to see things done fairly and justly. We must remember however, that the idea of perfect justice is a human idea and it is important, but it is an ideal that we find difficult to achieve in our modern world. Potentially unfair solutions to problems come up for everyone however it is an ideal to hold onto even though we as humans are fallible and fragile creatures. We must remember that justice needs the guidance of love and mercy to be as balanced as we can make it.

Queen of Disks: The character of this card is the force that keeps the emotional center of things outside of our bodies. They are strong, stable, sensible and reliable in what they do for others. By this, they are also sensitive and caring and is the warm light that brings people together.

So what can I look forward to in the coming days? Well, there will be reminiscing and nostalgia for times when things seemed easier… like when I was a child. All I had to do was make sure I didn’t skin my knees in the process of playing in the background. I am back in union with the things that bring me security and happiness, but there are things that I need to be aware of. The most important of these is that life changes. Life gains speed and momentum whether I’m ready for it or not. I will make plenty more mistakes and questionable decisions in life on top of the ones I’ve already made so far and because justice will be done to me like it will for everyone else, I will have to answer for them. In the meantime of this happening, I need to keep the center of my emotions in check. I am strong, sensitive and caring about those around me and I know I can be the warm light people need in these times.
