Okay so since this is a new year, I’d like to start things off by doing something new. In the interest of getting to know me better, I've decided that for the next several months, I’m going to be sharing a few of my favorite movies and music with you. It’s 2022 and I’m ready to get into these favorite things. Since we’re starting the year with some of my favorite movies, I’ve done my best to include as much information about the movie and what it’s about. I’ve used IMDB as my primary source of information so if you know differently about these, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ve also included some questions with these to help direct the reading a little bit and they will be posted with the cards. Also fun fact, even the decks I’m using for this month are based on movies I enjoy.. So with that being said, let's get started.
The first movie on my list is Hellboy. Released in 2004, this first installment tells the story of a demon that has been summoned by the Nazis during World War II. Raised in the world of humans, the demon known as Hellboy becomes this world’s greatest defender against the darkness. The main stars in this release were Ron Perlman, Doug Jones, and Selma Blair and it was directed by Guillermo Del Toro (and I will gladly go see any movie he’s been a part of, to be honest.)
Cards

What Choices am I facing at this time?
The Moon: darkness, dreams, creativity, ego, fear, unsure of the path ahead
King of swords: authority over mental and intellectual pursuits
How can I bring light to them?
The Dancers(The Lovers): facing a choice of head over heart, take the risk or don’t, love, sex, romance,
Page of swords: someone who applies lessons learned in terms of mental and intellectual pursuits
This is something worth fighting for?
The Hermit: taking a step away from society to rest, reignite your lamp, and walk the path of your truth
8 of Swords: feeling trapped and held back. You can escape this with a change in perspective.
This is something that needs releasing?
Temperance: balance, moderation, a sense of patience, and self-control
The Magician: having all the resources and abilities you need to make your magic
A part of my identity that needs acceptance and integration
Wheel of Fortune: cycles, what is up will come down and vice versa
The Lovers: facing a choice of head over heart, take the risk or don’t love, sex, romance
So this is interesting because what I’m seeing is that there is a path of creativity and making dreams come true but the thing is that we’re unsure of the path moving forward. We’re not sure if what we have at our disposal is going to be enough to get things off and running for us. The way we can understand things is that we have this choice to make at all but we’re still learning and taking charge of the emotions we’re experiencing. In this case. In this case, we’re learning that our own personal truth is something to hold onto and keep in mind and we know it’s worth fighting for, however, there are people who might not understand what and who we are. The feelings these thoughts trigger in you might be holding you back and you’re not seeing a way through. In order to release these issues is to try changing your perspective on the matter and you can with a little balance and moderation. Remember that you are a magically energetic being and you have what it takes to make your magic. Accepting the choices ahead of you and knowing that all things work in cycles will help you gain the clarity you’re seeking for the choices you have at this time. ]
