Today’s movie is going to highlight one of my favorite silent movies ever. We’ll be looking at Nosferatu and using its themes as a guide for the reading so here we go. I’m not much of a horror fan if I’m totally honest, but I appreciate the artistry and skill the filmmakers used to make this movie. So let’s get into this reading, shall we?
This movie was released in 1922 and was directed by FW Murnau. The story of this film centers on a young property and real estate agent named Hutter. He is dispatched to the castle of Count Orlok, as he has been tasked to sell the Count some property he is interested in. Along the way, Hutter experiences strange occurrences along his journey, between the locals in Count Orlok’s village not wanting to take him close to the castle, to the Count exhibiting strange behavior around Hutter. Eventually, the Count turns his menacing attentions to Hutter’s wife Ellen, and the race is on to save her life and rid the world of Count Orlok’s menace once and for all. .

It’s time to embrace the darkness in me. How can I best honor, accept and integrate this into the side of myself that stands in the light. (draw at least three for this question, can include hidden and clarifying energies)
The tower: disaster, sudden change, catastrophe, there is a disaster in the rubble
3 of wands: in a state of active waiting. Be patient, your ship will come in soon
The magician: having all that you need to make your magic
The Star: light, hope, a means of navigating the darkness
The World: completion, endings, and the old chapter ends and a new one begins
The Tower: disaster, sudden change, catastrophe, there’s value in the rubble.
It’s time to celebrate my light. How can I best, honor, accept and integrate this into the side of myself that hides in the shadows? (draw at least three for this question, which can include hidden and clarifying energies.)
King of wands: smart, in authority over inspirations and passions, is able to direct and nurture the passion and inspiration in others
8 of poles (wands): information coming on fast, pay attention and stay on your toes
Knight of cups: emotional, romantic, wears their heart on their sleeves and takes action on their emotional and spiritual growth and progression
Knight of poles: fiery and passionate, takes action on their passions and inspirations
9 of coins (reversed): stresses and nerves, inability to sit back, relax and let yourself be at peace
7 of wands: check your and others motivations, deceptions, and misunderstandings
Okay, so what I wanted to know was how best to integrate and honor the light and dark parts of our journey. Honoring the dark parts in ourselves will require us to look at where things have gone wrong and crumbled down around us. We may have come to a state of active waiting that has left us in the dark and in a state of active waiting. But, the thing is that we still need to do some work, because we still have progress to make and a journey to go on. The truth of the matter is that we need to tap into our magical energy because frankly, I believe that is what will help us get through the rest of our journey.
The second part of this reading asks us to look at our light parts and use this knowledge to integrate ourselves with the parts of us that rest in the shadows. The thing that we need to know right off the bat is that we’re smart and observant in our surroundings. We are able to take these smarts and observations and use them to navigate the incoming information safely, openly, and especially through the conflict our passion and emotions may cause us. Perhaps the situation we’re experiencing has to do with navigating some stresses and nerves around the people in our space right now. There are potentially some deceptions and ulterior motives on your part or that of others close to you that is causing you to feel on edge. Remember that this is your intuition talking to you. Don’t be afraid to listen to it, whatever the story may be.
