Deck is the Crow Tarot by MJ Cullinane

Spread used is from the Precious Gems Oracle by Maxine Gadd.

Initially, I found this spread in the guidebook for the Precious Gems Oracle by Maxine Gadd. I was fascinated with the spread because it’s called The Baguette (and here I am being a foodie and genuinely thinking it’s about bread...) and because I was interested in finding out more about what it has to do with gems and the like. It turns out that The Baguette is a type of cut stone that, when placed in a setting, is meant to bring attention to the focal stone. The way the reading worked for me is that each section of the spread had me look at different things I needed to know such as what to take action on, what I was feeling and thinking, what foundations do I have in place and what do I need to do to bring them all together. Lets see what my cards have to say.

The Cards

from the Crow Tarot by MJ Cullinane

Justice: fairness, balance, law

3 of Cups: here this card is about celebrating and experiencing the joy that comes from the energy each person is bringing to your life. Take time to play because it is necessary and enjoy happy moments with friends and family.

Knight of Swords: This character is all about movement and energy and if this describes you, you can’t be stopped. There is a high potential to see your projects come through but do not cut corners or drop the ball on important things that need doing. You have the strength to see this happen but don’t do anything halfway.

3 of swords; There is no escaping the sadness that comes with this card because it feels like it comes from all sides. However, there is a lesson to be learned from this in that you will be able to heal and grow from the pain if you take the steps to move forward.

The Devil: addiction, bondage, temptation, violence

I think to start off this reading, the fire and the action I need to take comes from finding a healthy balance in my life with all the things I need to do. Because of me doing this, I’ll be able to sit back and celebrate the joy of being with family and friends. I’ll be able to take time out to play and be present because it’s necessary and I’ve earned the right to be with family and friends. On the note of working hard, there is a project on my plate that I am really excited for but I need to really put my effort into because cutting corners and not being diligent will lead me to failure rather than success. Yes the energy is abundant and welcomed, but if I don’t focus on making the best of it, it isn’t going to work like I hope for. There may also be pain associated with this journey as well as bondage, addictions and temptations, but there are valuable lessons to be learned from experiencing these things. Pain is an unavoidable part of life we all experience, whether is what we do to ourselves, or what others do to us. The thing is that we are offered lessons on growth, change and resilience and if we can take the steps to move forward, we’ll see the fruits of our labor manifest in our reality.
