Spirit Animal Oracle Colette Baron Reid and the Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks and Holly Sierra, Bobcat Research credit
Okay everyone, so we’re into a new month and into a new set of readings for you. I have a plethora of decks that I like to pull from and one of these has to do with spirit animals. The one I’m referencing is the Spirit Animal Oracle by Colette Baron Reid and it is one of my favorite decks. I wanted to use this deck as the theme for each day I’m reading for. I had a lot of fun pulling cards and researching each animal. I’ve also taken care to credit each article the best I could so please let me know if you have any questions, comments, feedback, or concerns.
Today, we start with the bobcat. This animal is typically native to the North American continent, usually ranging from as far north as Southern Canada and as far south into Mexico. They are typically solitary animals, usually preferring to hunt and live alone unless they are raising their kittens. However, these kittens usually grow up quite fast as they learn to hunt and venture off on their own at around 8 months old. While these animals can be playful, they are quite territorial, especially if they are protecting litters of kittens, as well as bobcats, who don’t usually chase their prey; they’re patient enough to find just the right time to pounce on their prey. They’re known for being quite strong and courageous in a fight, therefore they are usually tied with themes of self-reliance, perception, courage, stealth, playfulness, and affection. Fun fact, no two bobcats have coats that are the same and this gorgeous animal appears in various Native American belief systems as an animal totem and guide.
With this in mind, let's get into some cards and find out how we can make the most of the energy we have at hand at this time.

bobcat: life is a mystery
Gaia (The Empress): nurturing, abundance, creative force, lifegiving
The Sun: light warmth, peace, happiness, growth, love
Elpi (The Star): light, hope, peace, a way of navigating the darkness in front of you, a way through
The Illusionist (Knight of stones [pentacles]) someone who takes action on growing their material and financial abundances, concerned with matters of money and finances
The Companion (king of spirals [wands]): someone passionate and fiery and able to inspire the passions and inspirations in others, someone who is a visionary and is able to act on their own passions.
Alrighty then, so what I’m seeing for this reading is that there is some mystery in the collective space and while it’s unknown what will be revealed to us down the line, there is a lot of creative abundance happening around us right now. In spite of the unknowns, there is still so much light, warmth, and happiness even though there may be some concerns about money and maintaining your financial abundance. However, this has not held some of you back, in that there is still this energy around you that allows you are still able to take action on growing your material wealth and abundance. The energy I’m reading around some of you is strong and passionate and this is what is allowing you to stand up in the face of the unknowns and take action anyway, in spite of the fear and pain you may experience. this may also be a time when your self-reliance and perception of your situation will serve you well.
