Decks used: Spirit Animal Oracle- Colette Baron Reid and the Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks. Research credit Wasp

Alright, friend, today’s animal is the wasp. I’m not totally a fan of wasps as I have been stung by a few in the past... yeah not a fun experience because of the ouch factor in the stings, but given that I chose this animal to research, I decided to keep an open mind and learn what I could about these tiny creatures. Lets’ get started on this front, shall we?

In some cultures, wasps are meant to symbolize the idea of getting in control of your life circumstances as well as progress, humility, evolution, and order. If you’re seeing a wasp in your space, it likely means for you that you need to stop wishing for your dreams to come true and make something of them in your reality. Now is a good time to do some reflecting on your reality and see if what you put your efforts towards is worth the effort you’re making. Seeing these in dreams may represent latent fears, subconscious anger, and frustration issues. Some other meanings that wasps tend to get associated with include construction, challenge, communication, efficient work fertility, intelligence, and new beginnings. these can be good omens for strengthening new connections with family, clarity and having the ability to make the first move in whatever situation you find yourself in. Mentions of wasps appear in places like the bible (specifically in Revelation and some places in the Old Testament) but also in other religions such as Hinduism.

Ecologically wasps are important because they are considered predatory insects. They tend to feed on a variety of other insects including caterpillars, flies, and crickets, and will feed their young with these insects as well. Their lifespan tends to be between 12 and 22 days, though drone wasps (the males) can live slightly longer and the queen wasp can live up to a year because of their ability to hibernate.

So let's get into some cards and find out what we can do for you today friend. Here we go.

cards pulled from various decks

Wasp: sometimes life stings

The Corsair (Knight of spirals [wands]): someone who takes action on and is motivated by their passions and inspirations, fiery

ace of stones (pentacles): a new opportunity begins as you grow your material, financial and spiritual resources

8 of scrolls (swords): illusions, feeling held back, but can change this feeling with a shift in perspective.

Ace of mirrors (cups): a new opportunity comes up to grow emotionally and spiritually

The Weaver (Queen of scrolls [swords]): someone smart observant, protective and nurturing

9 of Spirals (Wands): perseverance, endurance, exhausted but standing tall in the face of the storm

7 of stones (pentacles): take a step back to assess your progress and make notes

Kali (The Tower): change, sudden disaster, what falls away is meant to and what remains is what is meant for your highest good, there is value in the rubble.

2 of Mirrors (cups): union, harmony, the spark of long-lasting love.

Ultimately what I’m seeing here is that there is some change in your space that is either happening or will be happening for you in the future. this is causing you some stress because perhaps things are making you feel held back and exhausted from having this experience. However, the call to action in this is that reflection is necessary to move forward with your plans. You have given so much, and are continuing to do so. The question to ask here is whether or not the efforts you are making are worth the efforts you’re putting in? Only you know the answer to this, but the potential outcome of doing this reflection is that you will discover some things about your ability to take action on your motivations. There are new opportunities to explore your emotions and how to grow in your abundance in doing this work and even better is that going through this reflection process will help you understand and integrate new ideas and downloads into your space so that you can move forward on your goals.
