Recently, I was indulging in a bit of mental memory keeping and got to thinking back on my time in school. I was never one for group projects… I actively and resoundingly HATED them whenever they came up but I found that if I led the conversations, I felt a bit better about getting things started. I thought this might be a good idea to explore, especially because currently, I’m in the throes of getting content together for some months ahead of time… I hope that makes sense. Anyway, let’s get into some cards and see what we need to see here.

Cards pulled from various decks.
Cards pulled from various decks.

Mountain Lion: initiate embodied leadership.

Oyster: patient, secret keeper, hiding inner treasures, feels blessed, generous and masterful

Tiger: accept your magnificence

1 of leashes: you’re holding on too tightly and you need to let go because you’re restricting your freedom. However well intended you feel these restrictions are, you’re not doing yourself any favors by not reviewing your values and beliefs, Are you doing these out of fear or genuine concern?

Lion: be generous of spirit

Firefly- 4 of branches (wands): celebration, the building of a happy and healthy family,

8 of coins: hard work, diligent efforts, throwing yourself into work that is meaningful to you and potentially losing track of time by being in a flow state

Strength: calm control, overcoming base desires with gentle force, being calm in the face of adversity

The Hanged Man: patience, perspective, surrender and seeing things in your situation from a different angle

8 of coins: hard work, diligent efforts, throwing yourself into work that is meaningful to you and potentially losing track of time by being in a flow state.

There are two themes I’m seeing come through with this reading. One very specific theme is the idea of working hard at tasks that are meaningful to you, so much so that you get into a flow state and lose track of time. I personally love when that happens because it’s the sense of accomplishment I get from completing all the tasks done for that job. I understand this requires a lot of hard work, patience and control over oneself to make this happen.

The other thing I’m sensing from this reading is the idea that while you may be a good leader and an outstanding worker in your own right, there is a sense of you holding on too tightly to things. What is it that you’re working so hard to micro-manage? Even more importantly, what is it that is causing you to lose patience in this situation? I may be a hard balance to strike when you’re working with others to achieve a goal. It’s also hard to balance things when working on your own as well. Either way there are always things that feel like they’re slipping up. The thing that may help you here is to review what you’re putting in, make sure that you give yourself the kindness and grace to slip up and know that either way, the achieving of said goal is always worth the celebration in the end.
